NECK LIPOSUCTION

Unveil a Stunning Neck with our Neck Liposuction

What is Neck Liposuction

Neck liposuction (also known as submental liposuction) is a procedure that removes the fat pockets under the chin and helps contour the jawline. This procedure helps to create a more shapely neck in proportion to the face and jawline. Its results can be enjoyed immediately and, unless there is a dramatic weight change, are long-lasting.

Are You a Candidate for Neck Liposuction?

Neck liposuction is best suited for patients in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s, who have good skin quality. It is often best for individuals who have a double chin that is hereditary and present even with weight loss.

Neck Liposuction Details

The procedure starts with a small incision under your chin and behind both ears. These entry points are used to access the fat under the jawline and chin via a liposuction cannula. The fat is then removed, allowing the skin of the neck to drape onto the underlying structures, revealing an improved contour of the neck.

Neck liposuction may be performed in office or in the operating room, pending discussion with your surgeon. It is a relatively quick procedure, generally taking about 30 minutes or so.

What to Expect during Recovery From Neck Liposuction

Patients often return to work within a few days or one week later. Patients are asked to wear a neck wrap for 1 week after surgery, then it may be worn nightly for a few weeks after that.

What is the Difference Between a Neck Lift and Neck Liposuction?

Whereas neck liposuction is best suited for a patient who only needs fat removed to improve their neck contour, a neck lift is better suited for a patient who has the classic “turkey neck.” A neck lift may require removal of excess skin, direct excision of deeper fat pockets, and/or addressing a layer of muscle in the neck called the platysma.

Both procedures can provide excellent results but are suited for patients of different ages and needs.
